The Hereditary Cancer Foundation’s Lift Chair Program is here to make recovery easier for individuals facing the challenges of hereditary cancer syndromes or a cancer diagnosis. Whether you're recovering from surgery related to cancer treatment or prevention, our lift chair program offers physical support and comfort during one of life’s most pivotal moments.
Our program provides lift chairs designed specifically to assist in mobility and recovery. These chairs enable users to move from a fully reclined position to standing with minimal effort, reducing bodily strain and expediting the recovery process.
The program started in 2017 when a kindhearted donation inspired a movement. One lift chair was gifted to a preventative surgery patient, who later passed it along to help another individual in need. What began as a single act of generosity has grown into a full-scale community program with 35 lift chairs available today.
Thanks to frequent referrals from surgeons, local nonprofits, and community members we have served hundreds of patients with this program.
Our lift chairs are here to help individuals who are high-risk or recovering. Here’s how they benefit you:
The program is ideal for those recovering from procedures like a prophylactic mastectomy, cancer-related surgery, or other medical interventions related to hereditary cancer syndromes.
