Financial Assistance for Hereditary Cancer Testing

At the Hereditary Cancer Foundation, we’re committed to empowering individuals at risk for hereditary cancers by providing crucial financial assistance for genetic testing.

How We Help?

We understand that individuals facing hereditary cancer risks need access to timely and accurate genetic testing. That’s why we support funding for hereditary cancer testing. We pay the laboratory directly, on behalf of the funding recipient.

Each application is reviewed personally and approved on a case-by-case basis by our Board of Directors. Priority is given to applicants who:

  • Meet NCCN or USPSTF criteria for genetic testing.
  • Have a known hereditary mutation in their family history.

Testing can offer life-changing knowledge that leads to early detection, prevention, and potentially, life-saving intervention.

Who Can Apply?

Individuals or medical providers can initiate a request for testing support. We aim to make the application process simple, clear, and effective.

Eligibility Factors Considered:

  • Personal or family history of cancer.
  • Healthcare provider recommendation.
  • Financial need (based on income and household size).
  • The testing must be related to qualifying cancer types or hereditary mutations.

How to Apply?

Applying is free and straightforward. An online form will collect the necessary details to process your application.

Make sure you provide the following information to streamline the process:

  • First and last name.
  • Date of birth.
  • Ordering provider’s name.
  • Laboratory details for your genetic testing, including blood draw date and lab name.
  • Family medical history of cancer (including first, second, and third-degree relatives from both sides of the family).
  • Whether you’ve undergone previous genetic testing (to assess eligibility for update testing).
  • Household income and number of dependents (no W2 or proof of income required).

Why Genetic Testing Matters

Genetic testing is crucial for individuals at high risk of hereditary cancer. By understanding whether they carry cancer-causing gene mutations, individuals can take proactive steps to mitigate their risks.

These steps may include:

  • Proactive screening and monitoring.
  • Preventative medical options such as prophylactic surgeries.
  • Access to targeted treatment therapies.

Your genetic knowledge can shape a healthier future—not only for you but for your family as well.

If you have any questions about the application process or need assistance, we’re here to help. Feel free to reach out to our team at [Insert Contact Info].
